Ironheart might reach its zenith as well. The first teaser for the Disney Plus show, which will highlight Riri Williams, indicates that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is acquiring a more grounded attitude.
Disney Plus shows have a troubled past inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although the effort has produced some gems for the franchise, most of the shows have been seen as “homework” by viewers, especially given their quality is not especially outstanding.
This has caused many of the fans to completely overlook that an Ironheart series starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams has been in development since 2022.
Conversely, Marvel seems ready to premiere Ironheart on Disney Plus, almost three years after the last episode of the show was shot. Just recently released, the first teaser for the project shows Riri Williams attending MIT and being compelled to scrap her way into creating something incredible. This teaser exhibits a far more grounded tone for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer also features several well-known actors, appealing to those who have been following the project’s rumor mill.
The Secrets of Ironheart’s trailer is here.
The teaser’s treatment of the relationship between Riri Williams and the character portrayed by Anthony Ramos is among the most fascinating features of it. Ironheart’s main antagonist will be an enigmatic man known as The Hood. For those who are ignorant, Ramos was hired as The Hood. The movie seems to show a fresh interpretation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s character, who is supposed to have a supporting part in the first Disney Plus show.
At the end of the trailer, Alden Ehrenreich also appears momentarily. He was cast in the Ironheart series that would be available on Disney Plus, albeit it was unclear what character he would be portraying in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though his interactions with Riri Williams are brief, they provide little information; yet, it seems he will not be an open antagonist (just yet).
Ironheart will first show on Disney Plus on June 24, 2025.
