Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the animated basketball film GOAT features NBA star Stephen Curry making his big screen debut.

Directed by Tyree Dillihay (Bob’s Burgers) and Adam Rosette, the action-comedy centres on Will, a dreamy young goat who gets a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity to compete in roarball, a full-contact, high-intensity sport where the fastest and fiercest animals in the world rule. Curry is the producer of the feature as well.

Monday Sony revealed the primary GOAT voice actors. Apart from Curry, the roarball court will be blessed by actress Gabrielle Union from Bad Boys II, Nicola Coughlan from Bridgerton, Jennifer Lewis from Black-ish, Caleb McLaughlin and David Harbour from Stranger Things, and seasoned writer and voice actor Nick Kroll from Big Mouth.

Monday, June 9, at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, in an exclusive screening, Sony revealed the voice cast for GOAT.

Curry is co-producing the film with Modern Magic’s Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Adam Rosenberg, and Rodney Rothman alongside Erick Peyton of Unanimous Media. David Schulenburg co-produced; Fonda Snyder and Rick Mischel acted as executive producers.

Curry has a background in the business having worked as an executive producer on Breakthrough, a 2019 biopic of Roxann Dawson and as a producer on documentaries Good Shot and Sentenced, despite this being his first trip into animation.

Sony Pictures Animation and the NBA have teamed to present the animated feature GOAT to theatres on February 13, 2026; the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles will take place from February 13 to the 15th.

Running from June 10th to the 14th is the 40th Annecy Film Festival.
